[TPU] Radeon R9 295X2 Pictured in the Flesh, Specs Leaked - Page 8

Hd6990 could be cooled by single 120mm rad with temps max at ~75°C (instead of 85-90°C using stock cooler) so I don't see why this wouldn't be possible with 295x2. If they did put additional heatsink in there then It may be a pretty cool card.

Why would you buy a $1000 dual GPU card and void the warranty? Might as well get the cheapes reference dual GPU card and use a full cover waterblock.

And the pic looks badly shopped. Soldered PCIe power on backplate? Random ICs soldered on top of backplate? fake looking CF connector that's probably drawn on?

Happy April Fools guys, I'm not the only one who made 295 jokes this year.

At that point why would you waste the money on this and not build a xfire 290x with proper custom cooling? I dont really see the use of this card. Usually people use dual gpu cards for small form factor builds or to xfire without having to buy 4 290x due to space/price/cooling. The closed loop cooler makes the former near impossible and the price combined with the rad makes the latter unjustifiable over a quadfire custom loop system..

I thought all the 290's had the unused solder holes for the XF connector even though it's not used on the board.

I voided my warranty on hd6990 which was priced 1000$ here (paid ~700$ for used card). Drilled through backplate + damaged the stock cooler. I doubt there is going to be air cooled 295x2 (or they will relase triple slot card). If tubing can be disconnected somehow then why not use the integrated waterblock instead of buying custom one.

Hopefully EK makes some custom blocks for this thing. If so I am getting 2 of them....

I can also mod my own GPU blocks and make a custom bracked with fans for the heatsinks if needed.

Yeah, but they don't put them on the back plate.

I am sure that the 295X2 is very real...though it might end up with another name. I just think we are looking at an artist's interpretation of it.

Though who knows...maybe we are about to see some new manufacturing methods that will incorporate the back plate into circuitry...it is also possible that the card has two sandwiched PCBs and the one we can see acts like a back place but can still function normally and be used to solder things on...but most are on the other one we can't see. Though if this was the case I'd think the card would be thicker.

I don't think I've ever seen an AMD backplate that covered the back of the GPU, the bracket that holds the cooler in place is always visible with reference AMD designs.

(seeing the date I'm not quite sure if your argument is serious in this case tongue.gif)

Oh i was looking at this pic thinking it was the 295 redface.gif

If this is real card and not an April Fool's , it ought to have another version with a 240 rad...

At least the backplate looks like a photoshop. The unused crossfire solder points are on the backplate. The hybrid cooler probably is legit
