Of course, intel doesn't have good soc design integration for mobile, and Bay Trail was not all that good, except for cpu intensive tasks.
But, Intel is cleaning house, because it has to. Just having top notch manufacturing processes and a captive fab is not going to win over the likes of Apple or Samsung.
This what the new guy is supposed to be doing, cleaning house, and he will.

Like I said, AMD has their strengths. They have some great products in certain segments. dGPUs, APUs, I could go on, they have some good stuff there. However, ultra low power mobile is just not their strength, so the conspiracy theories are laughable given that fact. Whatever though. Back to work.

AMD's upcoming Mullins is a true ultra low power tablet APU. it beats the pants off Baytrail in graphics performance while being competitive in CPU performance. you will see it shipping in tablets this quarter with an official launch at Computex. AMD's problem with Temash was a weak turbo implementation and SOC level power optimizations. AMD Mullins has an impressive Turbo at 2.0 - 2.5 Ghz and good power management. so AMD does not suck at ultra low power. Intel inspite of the process lead gets knocked out of the park on GPU performance.

AMD did claim to have some tier 1 design wins in the pipes. And given what has been going on for them in Asia and their relationship with Lenovo I imagine AMD's design wins are mostly from Lenovo

As I said, I'd love to see AMD powered tablets that cost around the same or less than Intel ones and I'll finally buy an x86 one because the ARM tablet I had was a little useless when it came to productivity. Maybe then I can abandon this super heavy laptop and use a tablet, as long as it has a VGA out port.
