Because high dpi is useless, i play with 46CM/360~ with my IME 3.0 (which is 400-450dpi)
"you can just run 3/11 in windows" - I could, but i refuse.

so you very low dpi user... well that's true then. alcor with lowest dpi 800 might be bummer for such guys as you... shame because its really good mouse in terms of how it works and ergonomics...

They might release a firmware update allowing for a 400 DPI step. I think it would be extremely stupid not to. There's a new version of it coming out in the US at least soon also.

Do you think 6/11 and 800 DPI is too much for desktop sensitivty? You could just adjust the in-game sens to match your previous one though. I wouldn't really get the Alcor if you like the shape of the IME 3.0. It's really different. The Alcor is way smaller, thinner, has the arch further backward and steeper and lighter. Lighter is better though.

So It is useless just because you don't need It?
Good logic matey.

Also, 400dpi is useless for me, way to low sensitivity.
And No I cannot just raise it in some games because It adds garbage.

High CPI is never bad if:

the sensor you're using performs the same in terms of PCS and tracking (no interpolation) at the higher step, and
you are running raw input, or otherwise have a high enough framerate and resolution not to interfere with the sensor's hardware PCS limitations instead of windows' own.

Period.

(FPS gaming. MOBA/RTS you may need to adjust CPI since in-game scaling may or may not exist)

Is there actually a reason why you prefer to have it starting at 400 DPI?

I guess he's used to it? I couldn't use a mouse that wouldn't allow for a 800 DPI step for example.

I've used 400 DPI for close to 20 years and by now equivalent high DPI sensitivities just feel weird to me. Plus any added granularity is superfluous from a performance standpoint; 400 has plenty enough aiming angles to make any shot unless your sensitivity is crazy high. I do use 800 DPI for desktop and non-FPS though.
