Er, what? That's not how I remember it. 9-series like Haswell Refresh would work only on Z97 but 8-series on the LGA1150 socket will also work on that chipset.

Looks like the Haswell Refresh will work on the 8-series except the K chips, K chips (and up) will need the 9-series.
