EVGA 760 running hot while playing path of exile

So my EVGA 760 SC is running super hot this is the one i have

I mostly just play Path of Exile, maxed out of course, frames are fine, game plays perfectly but oh man does the card get hot! It will sit at 81c and if it gets to 82-83c graphics drivers will crash.
There is no reason POE should be getting this card that hot! The GPU is not overclocked and just running at stock, i would expect temps like this with a reference card, that being said this is not a reference design. I really would not expect these cards to run this hot, i have a 600T that has the side panel off 100% of the time so its definitely not an airflow problem.

I am guessing the card has bad contact with the heatsinks, gonna try a remount here pretty soon and apply some aftermarket TIM. Haven't bought TIM in about a year, what TIM do you guys recommend for GPUs ?

Im guessing that if the problems are still there after a remount of the HS, i will send in for an RMA.

Is the card new?

Contact EVGA and explain the problem, ask them to see if it is OK to replace the TIM on the card. As for TIM, there is little difference between them now so I would recommend getting the cheapest one out of this list or what other people will recommend on here.

Thermalright chill factor III, Arctic cooling MX2 and MX4, the Noctua stuff, Gelid, prolimatech.

Arctic silver 5 is for noobs now, its had its time its now out of date.

Yeah the card is only a few weeks old. I will give them a call and see if that will mess with warranty at all. I am still covered under the newegg refund/replacement though, that would be a lot quicker than going through EVGA.
