Also need to figure out what to do with my HDD's in it. =\

I looked at the one you discussed just now, but what I don't understand is why they would put the PSU on the same side as the components if they could easily avoid it with all of that extra space. As I understand it one of the hallmarks of cube designs is doing unique arrangements with the components. So why? The price is pretty ridiculous, too, yeah. 360 bucks is kind of much for what I think one should need to pay for a great case.

I don't see an issue with having the PSU on the same side as the mobo... as long as it is sucking air from the bottom of the case (outside air). It is only when they don't provide a blowhole for that, then I don't care for it (and that is what Dremels are for, lol).

It is a little overpriced, but I actually got mine for around $300... and think it is worth it. My other choice was a Caselabs at twice the price...

Get what you want... mod it if needed, makes it better, and makes it YOURS. That is part of the fun!

I don't mean there's anything universally and objectively wrong with the concept... it's just that imo the idea with those special case setups is putting all I/O that doesn't require direct interfacing with the MB (for instance high end graphics cards; finding risers and extension cables that work for those can be expensive) on the other side. This reduces clutter in the case to a minimum and lets the critical core components have optimal airflow (though with a case that large it may be a moot point). Plus HDD/SSD, PSU, CD drive... all of these have fairly long cords that don't require them to be anywhere near the MB. This just screams "move me somewhere where I don't get in the way." I don't understand why the vast majority of modern cases do not tap into this and just separate them by default. It doesn't really require any extra room, it's just a design decision. Is it just that people have some conception of how cases should be laid out and don't want it to change? The only reason Corsair (and other companies doing similar designs) can charge its premium for the Air 540 is because it's one of the few doing such a thing. I think this needs to become the mainstream, not the exception. It just makes more sense.

Well that's just a rant I felt coming on from looking at all these case designs for something I like. Forgive me, I'm Russian.

I went ahead and bought the HAF XB EVO after looking through it. It looks like it actually has 4 HDD slots which is perfect. I'll just put 4 HDD's in those slots and then tape the SSD somewhere (because it doesn't really require airflow or anything). Reminds me of when I first got this SSD into my first build. Taped it to the side of the drive cage lol.

It also looks like it has space for 140mm fans in the front, which means I can probably smush the Kraken X40 in there somehow, and then also put another fan to go to the GPU's. I'll put every side fan in intake mode and then make the top 200mm that I bought go out, which will be perfect for expelling the hotter air.

Dunno, should work out alright. Only thing I'm worried about is the HX850 PSU not fitting in it. Does anyone have experiences with that? Also IIRC I have to take out the hot swap board because it tends to be pretty crappy in this thing. Anything else to watch out for?

HX850 5.9"(W) x 3.4"(H) X 7.09"(L)

Max length of PSU per CM site http://www.coolermaster.com/case/lan-box-haf-series/haf-xb-evo/

Power Supply Type Standard ATX PS2 (The max. length of PSU: 180mm / 7.1 inch)

Should fit... TIGHT... lol!

There is a HAF XB EVO Owners club you can probably get more info at:
