As deceiving as the 2D graphics appear to be, in terms of graphics performance, it actually wants more than just onboard Intel HD to run smoothly.
I have an HD8530 radeon on my laptop and its "ok" on max settings. If I switch to intel power saving, it lags. Especially in busy grinding zones.
