Thread Starter
I got an acer 5610 for free!! from what i know it has the 945 chipset, with a socket m for cpu. my question would be can i shove a t7600 in this bad boy and be done. i would like to run a 64bit os which this cpu supports and it already has 4gigs of ram in it. i just have to replace the charge port.

I would imagine so, just upgrade the BIOS to latest for max chance.

I did that with a Gateway that had a T5500 in it, although you may run into an instance where only ~3.25 GB is addressable even when using a 64 bit OS, it looked like the memory controller on that chipset was limited to 32 bits.
