What about the comment below do you not understand here? Seriously, I don't understand your logic. Explain it without regurgitating the "waa-waa they copied" "waa-waa its ovbious" crap.

It's pretty much the way the Japs corner the market in things. Same thing happened with the British Bike industry.

Japanese see a product they want to get into, re-make the product and sell said product lower than all competitors (Often at a loss) when competition is bust or switched products, jack up the price and have the Niche of the market to yourself!

I have very little problem with Samsung TBH, they're doing what any company would, evolution of products somone else built. I have more problems with the "Cult of Apple" by which I'm not on about the "Fanboyism" but the often "cult-like" behavour of the people that buy into Job's philosophy. Samsung supporters don't have that level of fanatical devotion to their product, not that I've seen.. infact I don't think anything really does.

Still, I often get the impression that Samsung keeps losing these battles in the U.S because Apple is an american company that is backed by the Goverment. That feeling this is all just like Piddling into the wind because the Americans won't shift to favour Samsung in their own back garden.

Show me 2 exact motherboards made by different companies.

@superplush: ofc apple has an advantage being an american company and maybe better lawyers biggrin.gif but if they wouldn't go after samsung i guess that would have been a sign that they are ok with this, i do't think it's about money here.

I don't have anything with samsung, i own samsung products but i hate their smartphone division. You see...apple copies or get inspired from others but at least they implement in their way and make it work. Samsung is like: "oh apple announced 64bit cpu?" Next day "next samsung phones will feature 64 bit cpu" or apple put touch id...gs5 has an fingerprint sensor which works poorly, apple redesign ios...samsung redesigns touchwizz, i just dont like the fact that they just cant come with something original. I am looking at HTC which is trying hard to make something different or moto, why they can?

Anyway i'm done here, the apple hate is just too big smile.gif

That's a horrible analogy... More than 5 billion people on this planet won't be able to tell the difference between 2 ATX motherboards.

$2b sounds high, but I do hope Samsung gets what's coming for copying the original iPhone. The internal "make it like iPhone" documents are pretty damning. Whether they escape through some loophole or not, it's pretty clear what Samsung did.

I think the govt which issues patents must also put in a clause which takes into consideration the benefits for the intended end users. Apple made iphone, maybe samsung copied, but its was comparatively cheaper. If the consumer can get the same or better features at the same price points, the patent holder should not be allowed if someone does better than them.
