This is getting pathetic . Pretty much in USA you can't release a product anymore , First thing you have to do is contact APPLE if you are allowed .
Before touch screens phones , nobody sued anybody that there phone looks the same .

Honestly here the government is the biggest problem. Welcome to comunism USA .

Seriously??? Japan?? Samsung is South Korean, they in no way relate to each other at all apart from both being Asian countries.

On topic, the whole lawsuit thing is pointless anyway. These mammoth companies generally have insurance against being forced to pay out when they lose a suite so it won't really do much to Samsung anyway. And even if they had to pay up from their own pockets Samsung as a company can afford to. The only thing that will come from this is that at some point those two are going to be forced to license patents from each other which will end up making the products more expensive for us.

Personally I don't care who copies who's designs, I only care that I can get a phone that I like using weather it's made by Apple, LG, Samsung, HTC or any other company. I went with Samsung this time because in South Africa they offer 2 years of free accidental damage cover on their S4, Note 3 and I assume the S5 will be the same. So if I break the screen they will fix it twice for free in 2 years or do two water damages or one of each. That's great because here those types of repairs are ridiculously expensive.

Samsung is a copy&paste company though. Absolutely no originality.

The problem with Apple isn't that they think Samsung should have to change their designs. The real problem is that they think that NOBODY else should be able to make a touch screen phone at all. Period. That's what makes them so pathetic.

With all do respect , your post is without originality
A lot of people think that Apple reinvented the wheel . What they did , was just to take others ideas and patent them . Being in there own backyard was not to hard .

I think in a lot of ways, they copied each other. They should just drop it, but when money, especially big money is at stake, that never happens. rolleyes.gif

The reason I hate Apple in this instance is not because they are being greedy to be honest. My problem with them is that they genuinely believe that the only smartphones on the market should be iPhones and that the consumer should have absolutely no options at all. How ridiculous is that? I don't care what patents they have, they can't patent the smartphone itself...
