COMPLETED-Odd Appraisal: PS4 for desktop PC

Thread Starter
Hey guys, I've got an odd appraisal request. I put my PS4 that I bought about 3 weeks ago on Craigslist to see if I could possibly trade it for a moderate gaming computer as I have become terribly bored with the PS4. The best offer I have received is for an AM3 Athlon II system with a GTS 450 in it. Are my expectations too high in thinking I could get a better deal than this or is this pretty much on par, value-wise what my PS4 is worth? Obviously I wasn't expecting an i7 with a GTX 780, but so far I've been offered crappy, old desktops and laptops. What do you guys think? Thanks.

I would hope for better but keep in mind that your used PS4 is probably worth ~$350. $350 doesnt buy much of a gaming PC.

Basically I'd be looking for a CPU/GPU that could out perform an FM2 A10-5700.

He isnt going to get a pc that goof for the ps4. A decent phenom x4/first gen i7, gtx 560ti would prob have people asking for cash on his end. Atleast in seattle cl that is how it is.

Honestly, I'd just keep the PS4 because you are not going to get better offers than that. Brand New PS4s are selling for $380 on Amazon and your PS4 is used so it's just not worth it in the end in my opinion.

Yeah, i would probably judt keep it. You wont get much of a gaming PC for the price of what you would get for the PS4.

Or what you might look at is selling the PS4 on CL for around $350 & use that cash to put towards building your own rig. See how much you can put on top of what you get even if it involes some saving and once you know your budget, start a thread asking for advice on the best config for your budget.

Hey, thanks for all the advice. It seems I am going to just sell it and piece together a rig, thank you.
