Do I really need a dedicated HTPC? - Page 2

If you are going to buy a new TV, I would suggest to buy a new smart TV. My samsung smartTV has a plex app. It is alot like XBMC. and you can run the plex server on your pc.
So you don't need a htpc. just run plex on your tv and then the plex server on your pc. plex server is a service so it wil run in the background.

I would suggest a projector instead. You can get some nice ones now days and can scale the screen size to whatever you want. Plus I imagine they would be much cheaper than a 65" TV (at least they are here in NZ lol)
