This is your best option OP.

Yeah I don't wanna buy a TV to take up more space on my already cluttered desk. Plus the 1440p is glossy with beautiful color reproduction (something I would lose on a cheap TV)

Do any of y'all know any 22 inch or bigger glossy 1080p IPS or decent color monitors? doesn't have to be 16:9, I'll take 16:10 anyday. Obviously needs to have VGA and or HDMI.

Best 1920x1080 (16:9), LED PWM Dimming Free (Side Effects) 22-23" IPS panels:

Use Google or Chrome to translate the reviews. They are all pretty similar, but the HP Envy 23" is the best glossy option while the Eizo EV2336 is the best non-reflective option and best monitor over all.

Acer H226HQL Glossy
Acer S236HLtmjj Glossy
Asus VX239H Matte
Dell P2314H Matte
Eizo EV2336 Semi-Glossy [H]ard Forum Owners Thread
HP Envy 23 Glossy

There are no glossy 24" monitors and I don't know if the Acer S276HL (Review) uses PWM, but do know the that the HP 27BW, 27Xi and Envy use LED PWM Dimming.

maybe something along these lines:

http://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/intensity/

to run the input into the computer and play it from capture window
post #25 of 29
The Intensity is a waste of money since the Acer S236HL costs around 140-160$...

Yes, it's just the reviews which are in different languages.

what's PWM ? is it important? and thanks manacing tuba, repped. That 23" looks my budget. I don't wanna spend much on this. I do wish the monitor could go into portrait but I hope it can do VESA so I can install a custom stand
post #29 of 29
Why not click on the link and find out what PWM is?
