To look at it another way....the "red mod" thread, where people are using essentially the same setup for a single card and still have temp delta around 30C on a single GPU, it would stand to reason that your are correct, 2 cores would be 60C delta.

Lets play worst case scenario:
Hot summer day 104F or 40C if you prefer. Crap airflow case. Case positioned under a desk. Overclocked with 20%. Vsync off running a 4k monitor while gaming.

All I can think about it:

ahahhahaha yea, I mean, the boiling temp of water is only 10c above the 90c that 290x's are designed to run at so..... lol.

Should just throttle down tho.

It is, retailers just haven't gotten the memo yet. So far, I've only seen dirt-cheap R9 cards all over the place on eBay and the likes. If memory serves, I found a $300 R9-290x a few days ago. If the price delta continues to be that high, retailers are going to be dragged back down to MSRP in no time. 'Tis the transition stage right now. Whether or not this card debuts with a price hike is still to be determined. Let's hope the answer is no.

The water will not reach 95°C with this cooler. If you want to know why do to the water cooling section.

lol, it was a joke in relation to smoke on the water....

even if it did, the water is probably a coolant mixture and in a closed system would have a boiling point moreso around 120c... so yea.

But damn Watermark..... it hurts my eyes.

Btw if 500 W is power consumption then we have 425 w for two 8 pin connectoron other hand dual wire (yellow+ black) will pull 70.83 w. ( 425 / 6 yellow wire).

but according to Playtool :

Voltage rail Number of lines Maximum current Maximum wattage
+12 volts 3 4.167 150 watts

Each wire can endure up to 10 amp (?) so for two 8 pin connector we have maximum 720 w (10 * 6 * 12 ) , I saw some 8 pin connector with 4 yellow wire.

any idea?

Well, they should of used a white or black fan for the GPU. Red does not go well with silver and black.

As for the specs... I don't think AMD cares about TDP anymore. Seems like they will not sarifice clock speeds for anything.

The 120mm will probably keep up with 2 fully clocked 290X, but might be loud.

If I were to design the cover, I would of went with black cover and red fan. Or maybe white cover and trasparent red fan that glows.

i think amd may be trying to break away from that little kid plastic design theyve used on their coolers for so long, kinda like nvidia did with the 690/titan.

That's exactly what they are doing IMO. BTW last I checked, clock speed on the Titan Z were not released. I have a pretty good speculation that this will obliterate the Titan Z gaming performance, since the Titan Z has a single fan. Nvidia will likely release the 790 with an LCS as well so they can compete at the GHz level...
