[they include a ISO & a file for USB devices, each are 200MB in the installer]
They also released a FAQ: http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/support/downloads/SSD_Utility_FAQ.pdf

As you can see in the FAQ, when you boot from the Linux ISO, they got a backup utility program as well.

Forgot to mention, it works with XP 32bit, vista, 7,8, 8.1 (32 or 64bit)

Dont download this version here: link to software etc is hidden in technical details of datasheet.
under eigther migrations-software NTI ECHO or service-programs(dienstprogramme) for the utilities.
all here : http://www.toshiba.co.jp/p-media/wwsite/ssdkit/
its actually storage utilities 3.11. only 8mb and not 420 like here.
There is also a FW update tool and a drive-manual
the same link as in first message here again:
http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/support/downloads/SSD_Utility_FAQ.pdf

UPDATE:on drive-back one can see if newest FW is already inside.mine is from05JAN2016 SAFM12.2
strange i couldnt find tools when searching with serial N. or model nr. like advised.
wierd! Toshiba!
neighter of these work:
modeltype HDTS824
s/n 165B40YEK1MU

Its the Q300 not Pro 240gb.
When purchased it was Q300 RG5/240GB was very cheap 70 CHF only.-
maybe RG5 is from seller.

i just try the software on my laptop and with surprise I realize that he software will not identify a Toshiba MSATA that I have now connected with a USB adapter for the MSATA. Do not show at all on the software.

I am using an OYEN MSATA MINI USB drive, My pc is running Windows 7 Pro 64bits with all the latest updates and I had try it with the following Toshiba SSD: 2XTHNSNH128GMCT. The application does not detect the drives at all. If I have a Flash USB Drive connected will identify it with not problem. I am using the version 2.0 of the application.

Let me know if anyone have similar results.

Thanks in advance.
