I wasn't saying that you'd buy it or anything. lol I was just trying to explain what the more powerful PSUs would be good for.

There's something else that a more powerful PSU is good for: if you were to put a single R9 290 or GTX 780 in your system and completely dedicate your rig to 24/7 Folding on both the CPU and GPU at the same time, then you'd want that 24/7 power draw to be at like 50-70% of the the output capacity of the PSU. So, then you'd get like a good high-end 650-750W PSU.

just get a good 650 or 750 watt system. get 750 if you plan to expand the build later or just buy a 650 for budget concerns,

650 watt is good, look at my rig in my signature, my ax1200i is overkill for what i have(max system load is like 400-500 watts) but i bought it for a good price when i got it couple years back so..biggrin.gif

I actually read that exact same review earlier when I was trying to decide on a PSU, but I could not find one in stock in any store near me, and online they were like $129.99 + $12.99 shipping... The only reason I got an EVGA NEX750B is because the guy at microcenter recommended it...

Why look for one in stock near you when you have stores like Newegg?

I needed the 750w version found here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182264
It has been out of stock forever right now and I do not like paying that much for shipping. My next PSU will definitely be a rosewill capstone.

It has been out of stock forever right now and I do not like paying that much for shipping. My next PSU will definitely be a rosewill capstone.

EVGA SuperNova G2 750 watts is 5-15$ more and its in a class above the Capstone
