asus maximus vi formula with sli and soundcard, which slot? <3 Help

so as of right now i have 2 gtx 780ti's and a soundblaster z i'm looking to install, i'm assuming with SLI i should put the two gtx 780ti's in the top red slots, should i install the soundblaster between the two cards? or should i put it in the bottom red slot? the bottom 780 ti is blocking the smaller black pci slot. or should i sandwich the soundblaster between the SLI? I'll have a little room between the two, just due to the waterblocks thinning the video cards a few MM, also will putting the soundblaster in the last red slot reduce my sli from 8x 8x to 8x 4x 4x? someone please help understand this :-/

Here's the board

Thank you everyone

I personally don´t have the Formula but the Sabertooth. But they should be pretty similar (but double check).

I have two 780s and one Soundblaster Z.

The two GPUs belong in the top red slots. I was planning on putting my SBZ in the top black slot but I figured out (after some hourse of research) that this slot is basically useless because it won´t work if you have two GPUs in your system and...something else. Can´t remember right now what it was...sorry.
But no matter what you enable/disable in the BIOS it won´t work properly.

So, for me the only solution was to put the SBZ in the bottom red slot which works like a charm AND - as it turns out - is a pretty smart place anyway because if I had put it in the top black slot, the heat from the GPU would be trapped up there.

Again, not sure how similar the Formula is to the Sabertooth.

You can put your sound card in the black slots #1 and #2.

It wont work for #3 if you have SLI.

I use the same set up and i put the Z on the first pcie x1. It doesn't block the rog led logo.

so i'm assuming putting something in the pci 1x slot doesn't affect the three red slots? if i do choose to put something in that slot, other than a gpu, that does lower the bandwidth though?

No it doesnt.

Those lanes are different.

Your CPU will either run one card as x16, two as x8 and x8 or three as x8 x4 and x4

the red slots are not affected.

I suggest to put it on the 1st black slot. it is the best without affecting SLI air flow especially on air, and doesnt blog the logo either.
