Have you tried installing the 2nd card in the black PCI slot? It wouldnt hurt to try. I tried searching about the pci allocation. and I dont have that board. I was just trying to help. If you have tried already then, I cant think of any other than updating bios.

glad you sorted out and glad to know its not about AMD or hardware problem. I am not a fan of either manufacturer but these R9 290's has done a great job so far for me as well. I will be planning to run EF 1600p soon. the scaling of these cards are great. smile.gif

I know, they scale really great. I wonder if I should go Tri-Fire or Quad-Fire devil.gif. I just want to maximize all of my 4 PCI-E slot on my RIVE board, just for the fun of it biggrin.gif.

go for it. but for 1440p, not much gain. but if you plan 1440p eyefinity, woth it.

oh side comment 1440p EF, make sure get DP port native monitor. atleast 1. i have following 290x quadfire karlitos thread over anandtech and he has problem with active dp port adapters. but for native dp port monitor, his problem is solved. but it looks like he will go for 4k ef. lol

yeah I don't think a 4770K will handle 4 290's, it might but it's going to be a slight bottleneck in there. if I was you I would upgrade to the X99 chipset this year. to have a peace of mind wink.gif
