No. No rumors so far. Though they did announce a HTC One Prime...

My little 1 week review.

1) Overall the phones build quality is quite good, considering I've had a Samsung S1 and Droid Razr M both made out of primarily plastic bodies this one feels amazing. The buttons feel nice, the phone feels natural to hold (although it does feel unnatural to use the unlock button.)

2) The front speaker sound quality is quite good, it's not overly boomy which I was afraid of and quite frankly a lot of the times I go on my 20minute break at my PT job I just put the phones speaker on instead of turning the car on now to listen to some tunes while I read or relax.

3) Camera is good, but if you are looking to post high res images online or print photo's I'd steer clear. Its only 4MP which ideally is enough to view the photos on any smartphone screen (theres more to photo quality than just 4MP and thats why the 4MP images look good.) The manual mode has a lot of controls which are IMO not exactly easy to use.. by the time I set all my manual settings I could of already set it on my canon point & shoot, but the auto mode of the camera is great!

4) The stock UI is extremely snappy, and overall the phone swaps between applications quite fast with no hang ups. I've had 1 app crash or force close in the week I've used it and everyday I've had it it needed be charged by the end of the night (using bluetooth and wi-fi all day) This is quite amazing because even my droid razr m I got 2 years ago crashed the first few days randomly..something I had gotten used too.

5) The battery life is great for the screen size imo, and it recharges QUICK

I don't know anything about rooting a phone either but from what I understand its a very simple and nearly fool-proof process these days. Highly unlikely you would mess up the phone provided you research it thoroughly and follow the instructions carefully.

Btw, I played around with he M8 again today at the Verizon store and was again impressed with it. Love the speakers and the screen. Just wish it had WP8 on it...

Check out the forum at XDA. I wrote a guide on how to S-Off and Root somewhere on there.

Yea, the guide is pretty easy to follow.

I've got my M8 Rooted, S-Off and a custom ROM. Love this phone.
