Help choosing a mouse

Thread Starter
So after about 6 hours of deliberation (just today) and much stress I've decide to make this post as all other options have failed me.

1. What's your grip style?
It actually varies but mostly palm and fingertip
2. What's your sensitivity?
Probably medium
3. What's your maximum budget?
$60
4. Do you want additional buttons?
I really dont know....my heart says yes though
5. What games do you play?
BF3/4, diablo 3, TL 2, skyrim, STALKER series. Some RTS games, A really large mix of games.
6. Do you mind about prediction?
I honestly don't know, but people make it sound like the devil so probably not

I recently started searching for a mouse to upgrade from my logitech m100 (just a fancy way to say crap 7 dollar mouse from walmart). I have been just struggling to understand which mouse will be the best possible mouse for me. I am a decent player in BF3 and BF4, but I have recently had to stop playing because the fatigue on my hand trying to get precise movements with m100 is just painful (and id rather not develop carpal tunnel cause I need my fingers for climbing). I play a huge mix of games. I'm not attempting to be pro in the MP games I play, but I am highly competitive by nature, so I'm not necessarily a casual gamer that can shrug off losing.

I've found a few that I like

Aula Ghost Shark: Mainly because it is cheap looks cool, and is optical

Anker 8000 DPI: This is the one I was going to get because it is a good price and gets good reviews, also I like that it has 9 buttons. But reading about the avago 9800 and laser mice in general I just don't know anymore. I definitely don't want it for the dpi just seems like a great full featured mouse.

Logitech G600: I like the idea of having more extra buttons lol. Obviously not very necessary and only useful in rts and ARPG's, I don't play any mmos really, except for occasionally Secret World, so i don't know if I need the buttons just to have them I guess.

Steel Series rival: I like this one but people are so back and forth about it I just don't know, plus it doesn't have many buttons.

Any help would be so greatly appreciated, I am so lost in a sea of information lol. As a slightly in between casual and hardcore gamer, am i making a mountain out of a molehill? Would going with something like the anker be an alright choice? Im definitely open to any suggestions. Thanks!

The Rival is actually very good. Stay away from laser mice like the Anker. If you can stretch your budget the MIONIX AVIOR 7000 is my primary mouse for FPS, and well worth the money if the shape suits you. You might like the Zowie FK as well, great but smaller and thin mouse, right around your budget max too. No software for it though, limited CPI options, but really good performing sensor, probably the best out of the 3090 mice.

It doesn't have a whole lot of extra buttons, but I suggest taking a look at the Corsair Vengeance M65. I bought one when my G9x finally died after 5 years of heavy use and I am quite impressed with this mouse. The main buttons are kind of sensitive, at least compared to the older G9x, but it only took a day or so to get used to it.

It comes in Black, White and Military Green. This is the one I have, since it matches my Vengeance C70 case.

Edit: A bit over your budget, but can probably be had elsewhere for a bit cheaper.

Don't get the M65, get the M45. Far better sensor, same basic shape. Good mouse. Like I said if the OP plays FPS games, he doesn't want a laser mouse whether he knows that yet or not.

I've actually been looking at that one too lol almost added it to my list cause I also have the C70. Its tempting cause I can get it on ebay for 50 bucks and go pick it up from best buy today. My only issue is the laser which once again im not sure if Im making to large of deal about it.

Edit: Didnt see this post at first

Lol I was wondering if I wouldnt really like the laser mice, I mean I figured anything would be a step up from the m100 but it is also optical at least so I dont even have any experience with laser. im leaning towards the rival at this point. I like the avior but its hard enough to convince my wife I need a new mouse yet alone convince her to let me pay almost 100 bucks for it lol. We shall see though I really like the look and the fact that it has 9 buttons.

I also just posted again above, take a look at the M45. Same shape as the M65 but it has the 3310 sensor that's in the Rival and the AVIOR. It's the overall best sensor available right now and works for absolutely any sensitivity, has a large array of possible CPIs, and tracks exactly 1:1 with no acceleration issues.

I would look at a naga hex. I have one and like it and I play just as big of a variety as you. From lol to bf4 to skyrim... It fits really nice in you hand and there isn't to many buttons so it takes little time to get used to.

PTE = no-go for FPS, especially if he is using anything above a medium sensitivity where the Z axis problem is going to be more noticeable in FPS.

Ok so now Im being a little impatient, im leaning towards the rival because I can buy it on ebay and pick it up today from best buy (the reason im buying it on ebay is I have 20 ebay bucks). Is the m45 going to be a good deal better? Im going to best buy in a bit, to try out (or at least look at) the m65 (because its the same basic shape as the m45) vs the rival i guess Ill have to make a decision then.

Edit: What is PTE?

'

What exactly is wrong with laser mice? I ran my G9x at the full 5700dpi, and I run the m65 at the full 8200 and I have no issues.
