Can I use Seasonic 650 modular cables on a Corsair 650 PSU?

I was wondering if anyone knew if I could use some modular cables from a Seasonic PSU on my Corsair PSU. The cables do fit into the slot, however I noticed that they were potentially wired differently? The cable on the left is from the Seasonic, and the Corsair is on the right. Bottom left on the seasonic is empty, where the top middle on the corsair is empty. I also noticed that the sata plugs are facing different directions between the 2 brands.

from the over 40 threads I have read on the corsair forums about psu cables I will have to say no.
half the corsair psu can't even share their own cables, which I think stinks as why can't they
all be wired the same when the end of the cable that connects to your hardware is the same
as any other psu, don't know why they need to make it so hard for everyone.

No you can't

I use Ensourced Custom Cables for my modular cable needs

You may be suprised, but JamesWalt, the current motm winner also uses ensource cables on his builds.

Ugh. That really blows. That is pretty ridiculous how you cant do that even within the brand! Guess my build will have to wait till I can get some cables tomorrow... frown.gif Thanks for the help.

your welcome, even though we only gave you bad news.
but like I said, why can't they make these power supplies universal since the motherboards and hdd's and sdd's and gpu's all have the same connection.

Yea, especially for the same brand GPUs.

Only dealing with a few voltages and grounds, test with a meter and move the pins around?

Sadly everyone wants to reinvent the wheel, thousands of ICs to do the same job, connectors, etc. Not sure why there aren't more standards for trivial things.

If you need cables today, all youd really have to do is repin them. The physical wire is fine, but you could just document how the one cable is pinned out and change the pins on the other to match.

I just went by the store and got a couple molex to sata power adapters. These will be located on the back of the motherboard tray anyways. Thanks for the help.
