X, i play BF4 MP 64 with my i7 at stock and HT off with the 290 but with mantle. it is BF3 MP that i have to oc my cpu.

Then use proper benchmarks. Graphic test 3dmark is pure gpu limited. You will get the same results even with a 8350

I'll tell ya this much: Running BF4 in Mantle, even my FX8350 @ stock doesn't bottleneck my 290. Gives me a constant 100% GPU usage (only dips are on death screens etc). Additionally, overclocking the 290 from 1007 to 1037mhz core speed gives me a solid 5-10 fps increase on minimum AND maximum.

ON THE OTHER HAND: Playing CPU-bound games like Skyrim i get huge bottlenecks (mainly in towns.) Just like my old 1100T, this 8350 even @ 4.8ghz will drop me down 45 fps when walking around towns -- this FPS WILL increase if I decrease my ENB settings -- but only because it becomes less graphically demanding; the GPU usage stays the same.
