FF UX

This is kind of a continuation of the following thread that got locked: http://www.overclock.net/t/1478182/dump-firefox/0_20

I am trying out FF UX now and really like the feel of it. Very modern and clean! Other than the feel, which I really like, what do you guys like about it?

Again, that's Australis, which is the official name of the new default them. It was first only in UX Nightly. Then, it was eventually given to Nightly. Then, it was eventually given to Aurora. Recently, it was added to Firefox Beta. Soon, I don't know how soon, Firefox will have it.

UX Nightly is at End of Life. Switch to Nightly, Aurora or Beta.

Lots of people hate Australis. I love it. This new default theme looks and feels a lot better to me, but people aren't liking that everything goes on the toolbar now (no more putting things on the status bar).

How bad is nightly?

Why are you asking how BAD it is? It's like asking how bad Firefox is, or Firefox Beta, or Firefox Aurora. You love UX Nightly because of the new default theme and as I said, this new default theme is now present in all of the Firefoxes through Beta (excluding the "final" release of Firefox, which is what you had).

Let's put it this way:

Firefox is now.

Firefox Beta is one step into the future.

Firefox Aurora is 2 steps into the future.

Firefox Nightly is 3 steps into the future.

UX Nightly is 4 steps into the future.

All of these except for Firefox (Firefox "now") has Australis, the new theme that you (and I) love. All 4 of these Firefoxes are just fine. I have switched from UX Nightly to Nightly because UX Nightly seems to have been abandoned.

I am glad to see this thread has moved to a more productive place! I was rather upset when things got locked down..

On the topic of the different browsers.. I am still on UX for now and loving it. So far 0 issues or bugs. I will probably switch to nightly whenever UX is completely not supported and nightly has something new to offer.

Thanks again twocables for explaining all this to everyone. Very cool information that just really isn't advertised much.

Any news on whats next for FF?
