[Tom's Hardware] Nokia Lumia 930 and Lumia 635 Hands-On and Video - Page 3

I think the main reason WP8 isn't seeing large scale adoption is because piracy is kinda non-existent. I know most people are not bothered by piracy and do in fact make app purchases, but in my experience, these people also take recommendations from tech savy people who at least in my circle are all huge pirates. These guys never take into consideration that these average users won't need custom roms, or that they don't use many devices that being highly integrated with other products really matter.

Thus WP8 is left in the dust. Over the few years available, Microsoft has done a great job, and even though it lags behind its competitors in terms of features, I think its doing a great job of catching up. thumb.gif

I would like a Windows Phone just to mess around as a fun little dev machine. I've used XNA before and would be handy to port things almost seamlessly into WP 7.x. But for a native 8.x app, looks like I'll have to get back into the wild and wooly world of C++.

I love my Lumia 920. I've had it for over a year now and I really haven't had any issues.
I'm not a huge app user and for the ones I do use I have very little to no issues with. As others have said I like a well built phone that operates well and has a nice interface. I'm generally always near a computer so I like to do a majority of my business there and not on my phone. This thing has taken some hard hits and hasn't broken yet. I rarely play games and mainly just use the camera, IE, email, text and Facebook. The Office apps are great as well - definitely a very nice addition to having windows phones. They are fairly simple but I can open fully formatted documents and spreadsheets from OneDrive anywhere I go (very helpful for adding names to my wedding guest list). The only apps I really would like to have are ones for my banks (not a huge deal as I can open the browser and log into my accounts quickly).
I love what Microsoft is doing with these new updates coming for WP and I love that Nokia is making such great devices for WP. I will definitely be getting another Nokia once the updates come out. I think it'll take some time but WP will be a much, much stronger competitor to Android and Apple devices.
