H80 Stock Fan Replacement Suggestions - Page 3

So I decided to go with the gentle typhoon AP-30's. Waiting for them arrive.

The last thing I'm wondering is they draw .56a (amps) that's OK right? I know that the AP-15's draw about 4 times LESS than the stock h80 fans and people are using those with tons of headroom so I should be fine correct?

FYI I'm currently using an MSI p67-gd80 b3 motherboard. It's a high end mobo was the most expensive/best board when I bought it not crazy long ago. My PC specs in my SIG are way out of date will update asap.

Again a big Thank you to everyone especially LukePilot152. You made my fan search a lot more fun and less tedious. +rep

I just chucked a 0.61A SanAce on the controller, and it seems to work fine, spinning up to full RPM or at least what seems like it. The controller on the pump seems to control at 6v (Setting 1), 9v (setting 2) and 12v (setting 3) so your GTs should run fine on it. I've only just remembered that the H100 relies on a molex connector anyway, but I think each channel is limited to 1A.

I hope you enjoy your new fans, and I'm glad I was able to help.

Regards
Luke

You got it buddy. I just installed them last night and made sure they started with my PC that's really it as of now as I had to wake up for work today and I am still in the process of fine tuning them (think I am going to need a fan controller etc etc)

I will definitely keep you all updated on it. From what I briefly saw though there was quite a nice improvement biggrin.gif

Update:

@yuyueyuyue

OK say I think I got everything settled in. I ended up having to buy a fan controller for them as the pump controller didn't seem to be doing anything at all in regards to changing the speed whatsoever. I'm using for now just a basic Fan controller the NZXT sentry mix 2. I have a couple weeks to exchange it for something else if I want a fancier one.

So first off I have to admit at full speed there's no question these things are loud. It's like a different kind of loud too at full blast its not just the sound of really fast fans its almost like a humming noise (I'd imagine the lower rpm GT's have this but they're so quiet it is inaudible on them).

With that being said however, the performance is spectacular, especially surprisingly compared to the stock h80 fans. The highest my temps have been under load with the new fans was 43c compared to the stock fans which were 55c. Pretty big difference if you ask me!

I also installed a couple radiator gaskets (one on each side of the radiator) to cover more surface area of the radiator.

Right now I have them setup as intake and I think I'm going to keep them that way as I have 2 exhaust fans at the top of my case (one 200mm fan and one 140mm).

So yah overall I'm pretty pleased with the new fans and setup thank you all for your help hope your Easters were all awesome.

We never said they'd be quiet! The motor noise or 'humming' as you call it will simply be down to the intense speed these things run at.

I'm glad you're happy with them!
