I don't think Trump knows what is SaaS mean and how to use it.
I'm talking about 3% of population.
while 2"x3" solar panel maybe enough.. no one know until tests.

Another useless gimmick... Pretty low-efficiency solar panel with a tiny surface area. On a useless "dumbphone" (I use my smartphone and several of its apps every day, that is not including Snapchat/Twitter/Facebook and other "social media" garbage).

I think the people dependent enough on their phone that can afford this would just have multiple phones. My boss carries three phones with him at all times...all the same number (or he auto forwards the calls) and the same apps. When one gets down to about 20% battery he will pull the next one out of his brief case/ back pack. He doesn't like to mess around changing batteries. And really the phones are just not made to swap batteries a lot. Just a matter of time before you break a cover or something. He also doesn't sit in a spot long enough to charge effectively unless it is in his car.

This will probably be a wealthy camper's purchase or something.

Twitter: https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump‎

The above requires more than texting, emails, and calls.

If you are talking about business people... then we are also talking about business applications. A LOT of work is now server-side. Like I already said, it's not 2004... it's 2014. We have long evolved from static messages to interactive usage. In the workplace, who do you think is driving BYOD? Employees have wanted BYOD for years but it's when the executives demand BYOD, it happens.

Wrong... we can estimate based on what is already known. We know how much power SoCs and displays utilize. We know how much power can be generated from good solar panels.

Again, you (not personally) fail to see the point:

It is a $7,000 show-off gadget with a gimmick "sustainability" implementation that yet can be a great conversation piece.

Far more efficient that 6-figure watches (again, show-off and conversation pieces, won't tell you the time more successfully).

I can see it being very successful for what it really is - and it is not a techie's phone, it is a crazy rich guy's phone who can have as

If you want to see "behind" the paper specs, don't miss the bigger picture: this is not "really" a product which was made to appeal to the "average" - you and me.
Sorry "Bob". We are.

I bet Russian officials will be pictured holding those soon.
You know, next other superfluous stuff their hard earned money bought: DeWitt La Pressy, Patek Philippe etc
Soon to mobsters around you too! thumb.gif

How many people do you know leave their phones in the sun long enough to charge anything worthwhile?

Well my watch has the same technology in theory (invisible solar panels and sapphire crystal screen/face) and I wear it under the cuff of my suit and shirt probably 85% of the time, and indoors at home the rest (including on my bedside table with the light off

Still doings its job because it doesn't need a new battery, ever. And the phone will obviously see more daylight than a watch
