FrozenCPU isn't stocking the GT AP-15 anymore =(

The fan ID for the AP-15 was fan-674.

http://www.frozencpu.com/search.html?mv_profile=keyword_search&mv_session_id=ajd5GsnK&searchspec=fan-674&go.x=0&go.y=0

shows that it is no longer listed.

This is indeed a sad day for watercoolers.

Edit: also this link confirms it as well

I can not be sure, But I had read that Scythe and Nidec are parting ways for this product. We have just have a large stock for a while. It also explains why some amazon sellers are trying to price up the *** for this part.

Great fans for the price(and I was skeptical too).

Better get them while you can.

They have terminated their agreement. The last known response from nidec/servo, was they "don't have plans to stop manufacturing them" but they need to find someone else to do that which is where Sycthe came. Hopefully the sooner the better but it seems like they are more interested in promoting their new ADX fan or whatever it's called. Glad I picked up 5 more last week to complete my build. Hopefully by the time upgrade season comes around they come back.....Else I might be stocking up on the AP-14s

I'm pretty confident that someone else will pick up the slack.
After all, you can order a whole skip of GT's directly from Nidec.
It just won't be in a fancy packaging, but most here don't care about that.

I think some retailer is bound to do this.
If not, I might just order a whole skid myself and sell it on the forums and Ebay for a fair profit.

How much would something like that cost? biggrin.gif

I tried contacting them a good few times to order a huge batch in to market under my 'ChillTek' brand, but I never got a reply from anyone - US, EU, Japan and Taiwan (?) addresses all ignored my requests. I know that for the AP-14s it's about £5.90 each if you order 1000, with the price decreasing as you order more. I recently trialed some San Ace 120s, which I personally think were much better than my AP-15s at comparable RPMs, with higher static pressure but lower airflow.

I have heard (please note this is a rumour from a forum and a reddit post, so legitimacy is negligible at most) that XSPC and Phobya have approached Nidec in search of a deal, although to this day I am still surprised that no fan (except the San Ace) comes close to a GT? Surely it can't be THAT hard?!

Regards
Luke

Nidec Servo owns the GT fan series designs, patents, and copyrights in their entirety. Scythe bought thousands of them at a time and redistributed them. The fans still exist and are being produced, they just aren't be distributed to watercooling resellers at the moment. I'd be shocked if another liquid cooling company didn't sign on with Nidec Servo to distribute them, we just need to wait and see.
