The problem is that most of us lack scientific data to compare fans.
You could crank your SanAce to 1850 rpm and say "It's more silent than the AP-15, better noise"
But in actuality, the GT could probably be slowed down to 1400 rpm and move the same amount of air as the SanAce at 1850 rpm.
It's only when you compare noise to static pressure that the GT gets ahead of all others.
If you compare noise to rpm, it's no longer a valid comparision.

Exactamundo - but my GTs (all four bought at the same time) sounded worse than the SAs (tonal) at every RPM. They just whined. I'm not saying they're bad fans, they're just not my personal favourite, in the same way that they are your personal favourite.

sounds like the bearing lost lubrication. Dismount the impeller and hit the bearing with some WD40 or white grease (the automobile grease they use on gears)

I was always told mineral oil, as WD 40 is a penetrant not a lubricant - this is just what I was told though, so may be wrong. Thanks for the tip anyway, I'll give it a try.

When tested on a rad, all the San Ace fans perform lumped in with the rest of the pack in terms of noise vs performance. Only the GTs stand out at lower dB levels.
Honestly, the choice is GTs ar it really doesn't matter what other fan you buy. If you're not going to get GTs then might as well just save some coin and get Yate Loons.

Xinruilian > Yate Loon. Over here a 1200 rpm Xin' is £2.99, whereas a 1350 Yate is £4.79. Same performance though.

Weird, as the cheapest I can find XSPC's Xinruilian here in the US is $5.99, but comparable Yate Loons can be had for $2.99 or less.

I think that might be because XSPC is a UK company that imports Xinruilian fans from China to the UK, then ships them over to the USA, adding a sleeved cable to sweeten the deal (something the UK ones don't have). Yate Loons are shipped directly into whatever shop sells them, and due to the size of the US population and hence watercooling community, I would think that US shops order more in at a time, for a lower price.

Regards
Luke
