as far as ive found the thinnest 3x 180 rad is the magicool and its 35mm. these are the obsolute best 180mm fans made.

by the way, surface area wise

3x 180mm = 97200
2x 3x120 = 86400

but, uh, is it the raven 2 or the raven 2-e?

yes i was researching that magicool 3x180mm but there was no hard evidence on its effective cooling properties. i have the RV02 Version. i saw some cases just like mine with that exact rad.

Quite possibly the best piece of advice I got (from several folks) when customizing my 1st WC system 6 months ago was to go with as much rad surface area that I could fit comfortably & afford. I'll pass that same suggestion on to you.

I went with a 560 & 420 & they work quite well for my system. If you can only fit or afford one, go with the largest that will have a comfortable fit.

I'm a fan of XSPC (I know a few folks around here aren't). If your case has the cutouts for the 540, go for it (read the reviews on it first though).

If / when I add another 7970, I'll add a 480 to the mix. I really like the XSPC EX line, but they don't offer a 540 (360, 420, 480 & 560).
