Huge upgrade for having more screen space to work with and better colors / gamma out of the box and better color consistency. If you like glossy monitors and/or hate antiglare and can control light sources in the room, a glossy monitor like the S2340M should look nice.

If you want to use the monitors for playing games, it's a huge downgrade, unless you're running Surround and need the wide field of view on mostly static images. Dell's S series IPS monitors have terrible reverse ghosting artifacts. And you're losing refresh rate and Light Boost, so just overall motion clarity / performance goes from great to annoyingly bad.
