Looks like the price is not set yet, si

AMD probably has a ton of PR people doing research online in order to determine how much they can charge without getting too much negative PR. It's probably not even set in stone yet, whatever they think will get them a good compromise PR / profit wise they will go with.

And keeping the price from reviewers is also probably intentional. Give them less time to actually write about something other than reviewer's guide slides.

lol not sure why my post above had "si" in it biggrin.gif

But ya- I am fairly certain they will decide the MSRP as late as possible to see if Nvidia has the 790 up their sleeve just like they did with the R9-290.

Love the looks on the cooler, hate the stock rad. That will really limit this card's compatibility in ITX cases... Still, I'm sure someone here will find a tiny case to cram this into, and I can't wait for le pics! wheee.gif

I wonder how loud this thing is.

He's running 5x1 Eyefinity and it easier to use displayport and displayport hubs to connect 5-6 monitors in Eyefinity. One of the downsides of the 290X is the single dp. 295x2 has four mini displayports which helps us who want to run more then three monitors. Its a shame how amd shunned dp users w/ Hawaii and I guess they're making amends w/ this beast. Two of these are on my upgrade list if I keep my five dells.

Wait? 500W TDP with 2x 8-pins?

Seems hard? I thought the ATX2.3 spec for 8-pins was 150W?
And PCIe can only give 75W according to spec...

So that would be: 2x 150W + 75W = 375W?
IF AMD stays within spec of course...

I'd love to break some boards and PSU's and see AMD pay the repair bills ^_^

Am I missing something?

not only that, 4 290x QuadFire is goona draw a lot of heat and power usage...

and also given the leak benchmark the 295x2 should end up faster that CF290X why less heat and power usage.

I don't know much about PSUs or the way they deliver power, but I thought 8 pin was 100W and 6 pin was 75W, giving 250W total with PCIe lane. Now that I think about it though, the spec for a Titan is 275W, however it only uses a 8+6 pin...

Cables can pull more power if need be and still be in tolerance.

I had a GTX Titan pull over 500w plenty of times with it's 8pin and 6pin combo without any cable problems.

How did you get a Titan to pull 500W? It has a TDP of 250W, I've seen entire builds with i7 and Titan running on 450W Platinums...
