[MYSELF] AMD makes a push for schools, hospitals and more? - Page 3

I would never invest in AMD as long as this guy is anywhere near the helm. It's no wonder they are falling so far behind. The mentality of their leader here is that of a Marxist who spends more time worrying about how other entities spend their money than digging his own company out of a trench. That mentality is destined to fail, always does. If your company needs polishing set up a public relations department don't put a communist minded zero sum game loony at the helm, jeez. Sell Sell Sell!!! AMD is going to defeat themselves if they don't hide this guy in a closet.

CPUs aren't a commodity. This "cheaper APUs = moral high ground" philosophy and "wasted money" mentality is rooted a severely distorted world view. Any investor reading this guys blogging is going to turn and run and never look back.

Replace this AMD VP with this guy:

Double deal those APUs and charge the enemy double! Use the profits to run a philanthropy project. People who buy APUs aren't starving in Africa. Sell the APUs at an EVIL PROFIT THEN go feed the poor. (or build an arc reactor and provide free energy to the world, whatever)

This VPs world view explains why we don't see a monster APU with 16 cores and 3000 shaders showing up on the desktop. They could sell that for $1000 and sure and heck people would buy it (Apple might even be interested in something like that for their Pro machines). They are afraid of that sort of success. I think they should fire this guy, build the biggest baddest APUs they can come up with and charge as much as they can get for them in the market.

If It wasn't obvious, I was referring to the character that he played in Iron Man. The villain. I think AMD would do well to trim off a little bleeding heart liberal and take on some evil capitalist cut-throats. You know, someone wearing boots made from the hides of endangered species who drives a 47 foot long Cadillac with a fuel management problem and horns on the hood.

This AMD VP is an idealist who hasn't factored everything in. His thoughts sound like something I would have said when I was a young teenage anti-everything who thought the world was broken and could be fixed by a few brilliant minds making policy changes. I had to learn the hard way that the world doesn't work like that because the world is also filled with people like me who aren't going to play ball by someone elses idea of idealism. The best good he can do, is push hard to make the best products they possibly can. A successful AMD will afford him the opportunity to do niceties for schools and hospitals.

Careful you might make people who love government mad.. I just did I another thread. You are right though but also companies like AMD get tax payers money when they suck.
