3570k and 290x under one 240mm rad? - Page 4

After about 10 minutes, I would say these are my idle temps, or as close as I can manage to get.

It's funny... At idle VRM1 is lower than VRM2, but under load, it creeps above it.

Either way, this is with Ceramique 2 on both, and EKs thermal pads cut to size and layed on memory and VRMS. My 3570k is lapped and has CLU under the spreader too.

I'll never use AS5 ever again. Ceramique 2 is easy to spread, non-conductive, and is performing admirably on CPU and GPU.

I didn't expect that.

What do you mean?
Are you happy? Or disappointed of your temps?

I think it's terrible.
I really do.
You messed it up, big time.
Now best thing you can do is wrap up that mess and send it to me.
I'll take it out of your hands, and I won't charge you a penny......cuz that's just the kinda guy I am.

I cant say im impressed by your system and the reason for that is you have a funny balance. I mean a mobo with no heatsinks and a 290x with WB paired with a radiator that is mounted in a kinda amatureish way and no compression fittings, plus a very little case with once again a rather amaruteish mount of the hdd. Cable management is also not the best. Dont get me wrong you have good components, but those small details dont make it fair for your system. With some effort it could be a AA system redface.gif

Don't be mean.
That expensive eye candy crap is not everyone's cup of tea.
But thanx for pissing in people's cereals anyway. frown.gif

And hathornd, I was just kidding about your build being a mess, just a way to weasel you into giving me your build.

Great rig, I'm glad you like it.
Don't let the haters bring you down.

lol
Yeah, I totally agree. Motherboard heatsinks and compression fittings would have made this a Mod of The Month Winner for sure. I mean, who doesn't like motherboard heatsinks? I think it needs some obnoxiously bright LEDs and cold cathodes just for good measure as well.

The build is fine. I think the radiator mount actually worked great considering this case isn't even designed to fit a radiator in the first place. I think it'd be better if he sprayed the brackets with some matte black, but this is not a tell me what you don't like about my build thread either.

While I appreciate your unnecessary criticism, I should note one of my posts that say that this is a test platform for watercooling.

CLCs and custom loops, now from my experience, are 2 galaxies apart. I never pretended this would be a 100% perfect MOTM winner. If you missed the point where I explained that I was trying to test the viability of a high-end GPU and overclocked CPU in a loop with only one 240mm radiator, well then: I was trying to test the viability of a high-end GPU and overclocked CPU in a loop with only one 240mm radiator.

I was not trying to impress you with my loop-building or system-building skills.
