Corsair H110 mounting options in a Switch 810

Hello all!

A few months ago based on the excellent advice from users in this forum I configured and have since bought all pieces for the below build:
http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Versalius02/saved/2Zzu

While the Switch 810 lists compatibility with 280 mm radiators, I am confused as to how to mount the H110 into the top of the case, matching the provided screws to the holes. A picture of said region:

I have [crudely] labeled what I believe are the 120mm holes as #1 while my 140mm fans align with #2. I understand there is intended to be a gap between the fans, however, I am having trouble with mounting due to my fans (the Phanteks) being thicker than the stock fans. A picture of a screw provided with the H110 as it barely clears the other side of the Phantek:

Thus, the provided screws can be used to mount the Phantek fans directly to the radiator, but aren't long enough to bridge through the space in #2 above if I want to mount the fans on top of the case with the radiator just inside. I would also like to do a push-pull setup but don't see how I can with the screws provided.

Any thoughts on my options? Should I be looking for longer screws or can I make do?

As always, I appreciate any help and insight! smile.gif

Edit: Wow, those images turned out horribly. I'll try to take some better ones later if they'll help.

I believe those fans are still the default 25mm thickness fans. So what you can do is mount the fans on top of the case, and the radiator inside the case. Where the case is like the sandwich filling between the two.

As for the screws, it would funnily seem that the H110 does indeed come with 25mm fans too, and the screws it use seem to be 6/32 sized screws. What I would do is go to Lowes/Home Depot (or your local hardware store depending on where you live), and pick up a pack of 35mm 6/32 machine screws, and some 6/32 rubber washers to both dampen fan vibrations, and to provide the ability to space out the fans in case the screws are too long and might puncture the radiator fins.

Thanks! I thought I remembered a compatibility thread but didn't see it on the first couple pages. I'll do a more specific search to see if anyone with a Switch 810 has tried push-pull in that thread.

Excellent info! For some reason the bags with the H110 don't specify what kind of screws...

With the longer screws would it be safe to use 8 to mount two fans up top with the radiator on the inside (the sandwich) to secure those components, then another 8 screws from below to mount a couple more fans on the radiator for push-pull?

I'll head to Lowes tomorrow to pick up the extra screws. Somehow I expected this build wasn't going to go smoothly with my first venture into water cooling. redface.gif

Thanks for the help!
