Dual Socket X99 Motherboard?

Thread Starter

Do you guys think someone will produce an X99-based Haswell-E dual CPU motherboard? Pretty much for holding 4+ graphics cards and PCI-e SSD storage?

There'll always be dual socket server boards, so yes.

Yes you can. My SuperMicro X9DAE supports SLI and so do many other boards.

To answer your question there will be a dual socket board for Haswell based Xeons it will most likely use CXXX chipset. X99 will be single socket only though as QPI links will be disabled. Dual QPI links will probably be limited to Xeons only.

He doesn't even need SLI if the system is for folding purposes.

I was intending for the system to have Quad SLi or CFX. With enough PCIe slots to add in extra PCI-e SSD Raid.

Now that would be cool if the dual socket cpu was the extreme edition cpu, that you can overclock unlike the xeon!

THAT would be cool.

Crossfire doesn't need certification unlike SLI, so as long as you have PCI-E slots, it will run on any board. For SLI you'll have to wait and see what's available.
