By frame I mean the black edge trimming. I used a hacksaw to cut and it didn't come out that well haha...thinking of using an exactoknife to cut the leftover trims I got.

Got a couple ideas for trims of the cutout.
Later in the build, I might use acrylic or wood or some material use to cut to use as a frame. Like a picture frame, an acrylic window will be placed behind this frame and clipped or glued

For the time being, I'll stick with this rubber edge trim. Who knows, if it comes out looking half decent I might just end up keeping/sticking to this idea.

Pictures of the acrylic/wooden frame will be posted soon! thumb.gif

Not sure how well the quality of the pic is but that's pretty much the idea I got but on cardboard

The frame will be just big enough to cover the edges of the case's and acrylic window.

Edit:
Decided to try something with my dremel and a file on the piece of acrylic I have...not to shabby for something ghetto wink.gif (rounded out the corner)

Taped up and ready to be cut! thumb.gif

Thirty minutes and a few sparks later!!

aaaaaaaaaaand after filing and a bath (not sure if it's bad to bathe it but I did it anyways.....)

after letting it dry, I'll apply the leftover edge trimmings I got and clean it up a bit. Then it'll be ready for the beastly 780ti! thumb.gif
whiiiiiich I don't have yet hahahaha

But I did purchase my ram and next will be my cpu. I'll put everything together and put in my HDD from my old computer and see if it'll boot. That way, I'll know if I have to RMA something tongue.gif

Thanks hahaha! Your cut looked simple enough to do without measuring so went ahead and did it biggrin.gif except I may not put u-channel/edge trim on it.....I don't know yet!

But I had a few questions regarding the build...
1. If I decide to put in my older hard drive for now, will I be able to start OCing my CPU and stable, and later swap it out for my newer parts when they come in without any problem?
2. For the screw that holds down the ngff ssd, I don't have a local computer store on the island. Will I be able to go to any hardware store and pick an extra?
3. If I don't use u-channel/edge trim and instead use electrical tape, will that be good enough?

1. Sure! Just remember the settings.

2. Absolutely! Just take it with you and see if they have the same screw pitch, i don't remember the size though.

3. Yes you can electrical tape for now, remember no one will be able to see it once it's covered up. If you were to do anything you can always file it down so it's smooth and primer and paint the edges white. Bottom line make it clean wink.gif

Alrighties!! Once I get my cpu (probably next week), I'll put it together and start ocing. Hopefully, I get the golden CPU *fingers crossed* but wouldn't bios remember it or do I still need to note it down?
I'll go over to a Home Depot or something and pick up electrical tape and the screw some time this week then. biggrin.gif

I'm also getting a friend to help me out with my window idea so hopefully that'll be up something next week as well! If not, it'll all come together when I put in the 780 ti thumb.gif

With the power of a table saw and a file, I made the cut and rounded out the corners of my acrylic frame! thumb.gif
One thing I'm OCD about is that I fed the acrylic too fast and now the edges have teeth marks...maybe I'll file the edges down, too for that completely round effect, but we'll see! redface.gif

Don't mind the cuts in the center, I was trying to see whats the best way to cut the center out and I found a way! wink.gif

Had to scrap the last frame....It came out looking....let's just say, it wasn't pretty.
BUT!! When you get knocked down, you get back up and try again but with a better idea!
This time I took four pieces of acrylic and ended up super gluing them thumb.gif

annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd the final product!

All I need to do it prime it and paint it, then take some epoxy and glue everything together biggrin.gif
