I want to nomiate/support/whatever this mod. It's just my type of mod: looks great, doesn't go overboard, has good components without breaking the bank to get ridiculously expensive equipment.

Thank you so much, I didnt realize this build would have such a great following, I loved building it and the selection of the colors and parts were all premeditated and customized for this build smile.gif

I'm beyond happy that others are regarding this build for the MOM thumb.gif

I mean if they have the money to spend should it really be a problem. Yeah some people put a lot of money into parts but can't do any mods at all so that money doesn't matter. I have seen a lot of great mods use cheap hardware. There are a ton in the build log section just no one takes the time to nominate them

To be honest the sheer money people out into some of these build destroys the majority of a regular persons salary. With that said often just the most insane build with $2000 in fittings along typically wins. God bless ROBOCOP but I don't think his builds are inventive or revolutionary, basically water cool everything in as big of a space you can with the most rads u can and voila. MOM champ.

I'm really taken back by the outcry of the community regarding my build, it was for a client who was in a wheelchair, but just games to the max, so a mix of power with aesthetics with a budget is this build. He is going to enjoy the build for what it's worth.

Opposed to sponsored builds or robocop how is remaking his original build with the same $2000+ fittings... Maybe I'm jealous I could never justify that price of a computer, but in all reality bf4 a& titanfall maxed out on a 780OC IS FINE wink.gif

I get what you are saying, but I really think what robocop did was a piece of art.

As far as expensive builds go, yeah, mine was expensive, but I also did something crazy. 11 inch GPUs with a 60mm radiator and a P/P 60mm radiator while running x79 in an Air 540. May not sound like much, but I've literally maxed out what I can do without cutting out major portions of the case to fit more radiator space. I actually installed every sata cable I could to my motherboard because it requires removing my loop to install another a new sata cable. Same with ram. If I want to install new ram, I have to drain my loop and remove radiators just to access them. If I remove my loop to clean it, it has to go back in, in a specific order or things just won't fit. tongue.gif

I don't think you have to spend a lot of money to make a really good looking rig, I mean, just look at your project glacier. tongue.gif It's pretty much destined to win. I definitely don't stand a chance against what you did.

I think the essence of a great mod is that it adds aesthetics to an average high end rig.

Even if I had 10000 quid to spend on a computer, I would be hesitant to put more than a 4930k and a single 780 ti in it, I just don't see any justification in doing that. The same goes for a mod, maybe I'd spend more on the looks, but I think its more about doing something creative with a "normal" build than cramming every single component you can possibly fit into a huge case that is basically a rad box.

IMO the best mods are ones that people would actually buy/make and use for themselves.
