FX 6300 @ 4,91GHz -vs- X6 1100t @ 4,00GHz

wPrime 1.55 32M Benchmark

thoughts?

NOTE: THESE ARE NOT MY RESULTS OR MY TESTS.

the fx 6300

the phenom

how is this possible?

i thought
1) phennom is old
2)6300 is faster than phenom stock for stock

but in this test, the 6300 loses to a phenom when the 6300 is at 4.91 Ghz and phenom at 4.00

also, what is this wPrime test? never heard of this one

I have both 1090T and FX-6300. In repeated tests using x264 libraries and time to completion as benchmark, the 1090T is slightly faster. My conclusion is that when all cores are loaded, due to the penalty the Piledriver modules take, 3200Mhz Phenom core = 3500Mhz Piledriver module.
H264 libraries scale as perfect as it can get with each core you add, for real world program, so they are very telling.

So there is nothing strange with the results you post...

wprime is highly dependent on stuff like RAM, it's not the greatest real world benchmark

you can probably perform better with a 6300 for most stuff, especially if only one thread per module is used instead of two, considering that they're quite easy to overclock significantly higher than phen II

I don't have a facebook account to access that link

From what i've seen on ocn though, fx6300 is preferable to an x6. Original bulldozer was a mess, though

The FX 6300 is a clear winner here. Especially in games. I'm not going to argue about it and everyone has different opinions. OP next time don't just show 1 benchmark. But since you did. Go ahead and run this other benchmark. Download HWBot Prime and run it with both cpu's. Here's my score at 4.2Ghz. To equal this score I think your Phenom II x6 will need to be at 7Ghz or more.

Now have a look at the Phenom II x6 at 5.8Ghz-
http://hwbot.org/submission/2433479_ivanov_hwbot_prime_phenom_ii_x6_1100t_be_3625.7_pps

Every CPU works differently in terms of making calculations. If certain software is coded to make use of its way of making calculations then it benefits.
