Its refresh rate isn't as fast as you're after, but the yongnuo 500EX (~$120 on amazon) can sync up to 1/8000 if you have a camera with that kind of shutter speed. I'm considering that one for my 70D.

Just remember - not just any 500EX (or any off brand for that matter) will work because of the Sony / Minolta altered hot shoe (almost everyone else uses a different hot shoe). You have to make sure that if you buy an off-brand flash that it has the correct mount. I didn't find a 500EX from a quick search that were compatible, but I might have missed something.

Thanks or clarifying, I didn't realize it was a different mount. The Yongnuo units are usable on Canon & Nikon. Guess that rules them out for Sony/Minolta mounts. Sorry about that.

No problem - they are the only camera brand(s) that use a non standard (short of some weird single cameras) hot shoe. Used to work at a camera store - you wouldn't believe how many times I had to do a return for just this reason. No one even thinks about looking at the hot shoe because for 85% of the world it's the same.

For further commentary, even though I shoot Nikon now, I actually prefer the old Minolta / Sony shoe. I find it's a lot easier to attach & take off.
