need help picking out new fans

so my computer is almost a year old, and I still have the stock fans that came with my NZXT Phantom case... I watercooled my computer this past christmas and am now looking into getting new fans.... so far I have it narrowed down to

silverstone AP-121 - http://www.silversto...pid=257&area=en
Silverstone AP-121-L - http://www.silversto...pid=273&area=en
Silverstone AP-123 - http://www.silversto...pid=402&area=en

I am looking for two 120mm fans for my rad, preferably static pressure optimized ones..... and then three 120mm and one 140mm, preferably air flow optimized ones, for the rest of my case... I looked into corsair fans, but they seem over-priced

For the Rad, go with Noctua NF F12's. For the rest, go with Corsair air series.

the problem is.... Nocuta's color scheme is so ugly :c but if they are the best option, i might just deal with it

They should be close to releasing their black fans if they haven't already. A few people have painted them as well because of the color.

I can understand that, some XSPC Xinruilian fans, Yate loons, Zalman F3 or Gelid are good and cheap. To be honest the Corsair and the Noctua fans are average, the Nocuta fans are not worth the money.

As others have said look into some Gentle Typhoons sound very good at around 1000RPM or less. If you like the aesthetics of the Corsair fans just go get them and you will be happy.

What are the temperature on your CPU using the stock fans? Are you bothered by noise?

I am bothered by the noise when I don't have a headset on....
as of now, with a few tabs in Chrome open, Curse Voice running, and league of legends idle at the main menu, I am getting about 80 degrees Fahrenheit on my CPU

If you are willing to spend the money for Noctua fans, do yourself a favor and look at the Be Quiet Silent Wings 2. PWM... Good looks... Awesome quiet.... Great performance for case or radiator.

When I returned to custom building a year ago I picked the Silent Wings. They are on the expensive side though. So with my additional two builds I tried the more common options trying to save a buck. I've run Corsair, Noctua, Cooler Master, and a few others. I have now replaced all of those with more Be Quiets.

I am a low noise junkie though. And I use PWM fans to help with that cause. If you can live with more "woosh" then there are less expensive options.

I can live with the "woosh" tongue.gif I think I am going to get Scythe Gentle Typhoon Ap-14 (Click to show) For my rad....and then decide what I am going to get for my intake and exhaust fans

For exhaust and intakes you have a few options:
  • GT AP-14's are good case fans as well as rad fans, if you can pick up some more
  • Thermalright TY-147 (140mm with 120mm mount)
  • Be Quiet Silent Wings 2 (120mm and 140mm variants, expensive but worth it)
  • Noctua NF-P12 (120mm, great fans)
  • Noctua NF-A14 (140mm, best 140mm fans IMO)
  • Phanteks PH-F140HP/TS (140mm with 120mm mount again)

Some cheaper options, all amazing value:
  • Arctic F12 and F14 (120mm/140mm)
  • Gelid Silent 12 and 14 (120mm/140mm)
