They have every right to complain. They're not asking Dark Souls II to deliver more than any other games in terms of settings, they simply want things that have been standard for PC games since the 90's. Nothing wrong here.

The first Dark Souls was a joke of a port and until a modder intervened, the game was absolute trash with blurry graphics and a locked frame rate. Nobody's asking for Dark Souls II to look like Crysis 3, we just want the same settings we have in 99% of the games. We pay for these games after all. Why should Dark Souls II be exempt of such a basic standard of quality?

Baaaaaam! I am gonna have to agree with this train of thought. Sometimes it seems like some devs think we are sheep and not going to notice things like this.

We deserve quality standards.

I think even if they won't deliver a perfect PC game with Dark Souls 2 I don't think FROM is doing that, because they are genuinely evil and want to screw with people. They are not very experienced with PC games and to be honest Dark Souls 2 doesn't need to be a graphical masterpiece like Crysis 3 to be a great game. Of course I don't want it to be broken/glitched/technically flawed , but I can live with a Dark Souls 2 even if it doesn't offer that much graphical goodness as other games do.

The most important thing for me is probably a stable framerate throughout the game.

I'm hoping Kevin VanOrd @ Gamespot forgot about these 'advanced' graphical options, because there's a video comparison up at Gamespot: here, and he makes no mention of any of these options shown in the screen cap. Plus it looks identical to the console versions excluding the increased resolution difference. Which imo makes little difference apart from image clarity.

the differences in that video is disappointing, and they said the PC was the lead platform this time around.. lachen.gif

That is probably why the developers had to drop the graphics so dramatically in the console version.

Sorry guys even with the graphics sliders turned all the way up, the game still looks like crap and not what was promised.

Thanks for the link.
Sounds like he was pretty happy with the PC graphics with the exception of the lightning when compared to the original demo. So no fancy lightning.
Anyway, I think the game is going to look good and April 25th can't some soon enough. Besides, I'm sure the modding comunity will improve the game even further.
