Nothing SweetFX or an ENB couldn't resolve.

This actually looks pretty good for a Souls game.

And yeah I'm using SweetFX with this when it drops. xD

After watching hours of console footage of this game, the pc version looks great. I can actually see textures and fine detail. The lighting does look simplified though. It looks good. Thanks for the link.

I've watched a few more video comparisons since I linked that initial Gamespot one. Yeah, unfortunately it's still not even close to the pre-release footage. It does look decent in comparison to ugh Dark Souls 1, at least. When considering that it's not a next gen title. I would probably be satisfied with the visuals if not for how amazing the rendering looked on the pre release stuff tbh.

Looks like I'll have to do up some shaders for it, to try enhance the lighting looks etc. Seeing as it's still lingering in d3d9. I would assume the shaders I wrote for DkS 1 should work for this also.

tl;dr visually disappointing, but acceptable.

Dark Souls with a Anisotropic beauty treatment...

well, technically it will be dark, grim and as tough as hangin' yoself with your own innards...but you catch my drift. wink.gif

Yeah looks like the visuals of the alpha footage is never going to make it to a retail game which is really disappointing. Well not going to buy this at release then. Going to wait and see what the modders can make of it and then pick it up later when its on sale.

I doubt this one will get any 'serious' mods for it. Seeing as the api interceptor for the first one was basically fixing it so it wasn't causing your eyes to bleed while playing it. Saying that, If I end up getting it day one. I'll probably do some updated shaders for it, along with hex editing the binary to dump strings etc, to find any possibly hidden ini tweaks.

Ok, so I knew the lightning will stay simple and pale, disappointed tho.

But what worries me is that they said that it is harder to play using M+K. Now that I didn't expect.

There, now people can finally make decisions since they now actually know what it looks like instead of complaining way before the game comes out. Now that I finally see gameplay of it on PC I can say that I'm kind of disappointed that the graphics that were shown are not available on PC.

If you prepaid for the product before knowing what it looks like then that's your problem.
