If you don't like it - you can either go with AMD or buy the same Nvidia card you were eyeing up and get it for much cheaper smile.gif

Corsair wise - indeed.
There was one german guy (I think he was german) that did the tests and showed almost the same benefits - but it seemed odd - his benchmarks seemed a little weird to me and I couldn't believe it.

Yeah im planning on waiting at this point. Saw an asus r9 290 on my lunch break and was tempted but $480 when nvidia next gen is due later this year, Im gonna wait. Im honestly planning on for sure sticking with nvidia at this point to see how they build upon on these drivers in the future as well.

Make sure you see large memory perfomance difference in the adia benchmarks and/or maxxmem first, IIRC from the original threads, there were more than a few benches backing up performace gains, but also uneducated people clocking their RAM up in silly ways, giving up timings, hardly gaining or even losing RAM performance, and then saying that it didn't help (because they had poor results)

when testing stuff for my RAM for example, i run 9-10-12-20, 1600mhz, auto all other timings - vs 9-10-12-20, 2200mhz, 104 trfc. A few things respond sharply to the increased performance

Yeah I was thinking of doing 9-9-9-24 2N 1600 vs 1866 / 2100 etc smile.gif

Speaking of which - watch this video:

Looks like nvidia would be increasing bandwidth - thus giving you more potential - I know that's projected for 2016, however it looks interesting nonetheless!

Sorry that's just insane about the bench difference and i think in need to try this also, plus windows 8 on the desktop is the pain in the...

were talking like 10-15FPS difference here between OS's, who cares if 8.1 is 5fps quicker when your max is 120 fps. This is the difference between unplayable and playable as i only have a GTX 780.

Did 2 benches on win7 HT ON:

2014-04-11 19:21:35 - bf4
Frames: 12994 - Time: 112102ms - Avg: 115.912 - Min: 46 - Max: 191

2014-04-11 19:23:52 - bf4
Frames: 13671 - Time: 118234ms - Avg: 115.627 - Min: 43 - Max: 192

I think I'll redo the win7 benches to be on the safe side - when I have time.

For the RAM benchmark, I hope you're able to use the "perfoverlay.drawfcat 1" or the graph in BF4 to good effect. I would like to see frame variance and frametime percentile graphs to illustrate the smoothness that is the conceptual benefit of faster RAM in 64player BF4.

Min's, Maxes, and Averages no longer tell the whole story when it comes to the experience.

Also, there's probably less to gain from RAM performance etc with new drivers

Since FPS is high, if you're testing this i would recommend doing it @1080p no AA so the GPU's are not holding back performance at any time, definitely (as it's a test of cpu/system/api/ram/whatever performance, which will drop with increased player counts etc)

One thing I do is that I put the map name next to each fraps log, that way I can compare even more accurately. From map to map the fps range can be pretty large. Would be good I guess for others to know as well so they can compare with their setup as well.

Regardless, the gains are real with the nvidia drivers for sure. I have never tried HT off on bf4, I thought it was only a bf3 thing early in the game release.
