For those posting numbers from quick, unscientific tests of various games please pay attention to min fps changes more so if you can; that's the number that really matters.

Inded mins seems vastly improved.
Looking forward to testing more.

This is what I saw.

Nvidia Control Panel: (Click to show)
AO = Quality
AF = 16x
Texture Filtering = high quality (clamp)
Max performance, highest available and single display.

BF4 settings set to Custom; Ultra all, AA = 2x and Post = Off with Motion Blur = Off.

Using this un-scientific but trying to replicate the movement on an empty server as close as I could test (shanghai empty), the largest change is from spending time between 90fps-100fps with 335 drivers, to spending that time between 100fps-120fps, percentage wise using the 337 drivers.

+Reps to both you and Totally Dubbed. thumb.gif

Question though. Why are you getting so low min FPS? I have a Single Titan OC to 1300mhz / 3930k @ 4.6ghz (only difference) 2560x1440 and i ran the same test Dubbed ran and got 55fps as my min FPS, same settings as yours with 2xMSAA. Oh i am running it off of Win 8 and a SSD.

You would likely get even better results (with slightly more variation) in 64 player maps that are actually populated. Remember, this is to reduce CPU overhead. The best way to test that is in a map stuffed to the gills. An empty map is as close to GPU bound as BF4 gets.

Suppose I should've been more anal, I used the .cfg file to kick off the logfile, so it captured the beginning loading screen and it starts low before it's capped to that 30fps, until it ramps up. I should've removed that part.

Yeah seems like loading screen related.
Mins shouldn't be that low.

2xMSAA does hash your FPS though

Yeah might get better results, but not consistent ones.
When I did win 8 vs win 7 - it was easy to do a comparison as I would just benchmark the OSs - here I'm benchmarking the drivers + HT.
Thus I need the same thing to be done exactly the same. I'm not benchmarking the game, but I'm benchmarking the driver.
Before I was benchmarking the game. Now I'm benchmarking a driver - simply put.

Thus I found the best way was to perform the same exact test.

I'll try to do 4x for each of the tests - to get more all-round results.
Bit busy today and in the next few days - but I'll get around it
post #38 of 177
Wow, I'm going to have to give these new drivers a go when I get back home today.

I was planning on doing a full SSD reimage, so I might as well do that and then install the drivers to guarantee a fresh environment.
post #39 of 177
These may be the drivers that bring me back to WIndows 7 :-) I hate using Windows 8 :-(

Rad test. Great improvements. Might be time to upgrade from the November drivers xxx.83 or whatever they were. Not at my gaming pc right now.
