So I'm about to pull the trigger on a new monitor and I have to admit that I don't know a ton about displays. Two that I'm looking at are:

LG 24MP55HQ-P
Link
$184.99

and

Asus VS247H-P
Link
$194.99 ($174.99 after MIR)

Then there is the third option, more of a savings option:

Samsung Series 3 S22C300HS
Link
$129.99

Monitor would mostly be used for gaming and general browsing. Thoughts?

That alone being said... Honestly in my experience after trying multiple 1080p 5ms, 2ms, 60hz Monitors there is nothing better than a 144hz 1ms monitor

I know THIS MONITOR has all the bells and whistles on a monitor that you never though you would use but I assure you, that you will be more than stunned by the performance and the eye candy that this monitor gives you in games biggrin.gif

after getting used to a 144hz 1ms monitor... I can not play on my brother's gaming rig (60hz, 2ms 1080p monitor) i refuse to play on that ... thing biggrin.gif

EDIT: the 2nd option you posted was on sale for $129 USD, i am not sure if canada has similar deals as the ones that goes by on other websites every now and then. I am pretty sure you can pull the trigger on a 1080p 60hz 2ms monitor for around 139 CAD somewhere if you are patient about waiting around for such an offer.

At work now and the link is blocked, silly IT. Either way, I ended up going with the LG. I've never had an IPS panel before so I figured I'd take the gamble, anything will be a step up from the current monitor I have.

Got some other goodies too smile.gif.
