Sensei Wireless

Since they shipped it to me anyway (like a few hours after I tried to cancel order) I figure I leave some impressions on it over the Sensei Orig/MLG. (never used a RAW)

+Wireless seems to work very well, in most situations it shouldn't be the difference between win and loss. Wired is still more secure for competetive play.

+Grip feels nicer than both Sensei versions, looks better as well. The black color is awesome.]

-Glide, aside from a small boost in weight)hardly noticeable) they made the front glide zone smaller and it makes a huge difference in how good it feels to move this mouse

-Buttons, if you are used to the sensei vanilla. All of the buttons are tough to actuate, the Sensei MLG is very light to the touch and actuates clicks efficiently. They also changed the layout slightly which actually makes it slightly more difficult to use the side buttons for MMO gamers.

-No more CPI Indicator

That is without going into more advanced testing(objective), out of the box and in my hand feelings about the mouse they charged me $150 for....

Needless to say I will be taking advantage of the 14 day return policy to get the mouse I wanted to in the first place. If you love the Sensei and think this refresh would be better if you tether it 24/7, do yourself a favor and stick with the Sensei, or Sensei Raw. Or even the MLG version if you are an MMO gamer. They upgraded the switches under the extra buttons, they broke on my original sensei and seem to be going strong on the MLG version.

In a game like Tera when you are competitive in 3s you can't really afford to make a mistake fumbling mouse buttons. Nor can you afford that delay on a button that is more difficult to press with your pinky. Laser mice acceleration doesn't hurt as much in these games, since the hit box is much larger than a head shot.

:DNice. Can we get some Paint and Enotus shots? I assume this measures technically the same as the MLG.

Did they ever update the firmware in the MLG? Last I tried it a couple months ago it was SUPER laggy. Huge input lag on the latest firmware at the time. Way more noticeable than the "smoothing" "myth" which is what I call it anyway. The original Sensei felt normal, something felt totally wrong with the MLG.

I don't know how to make objective test of a mouse, but I will see what I can do for you alright?

I am guessing they did, but updating the firmware on the MLG sensei was like taking a trip through an oblivion gate. But it doesn't quite feel right in faster paced games, could be attributed to a slight input lag and overcompensation or just acceleration. But at least visually it feels 1:1 as far as any lag is concerned.

If you watch my Avior 7000 review video in my thread about that mouse you can see how people obtain the measurement results for mice. I did the testing live on video.

When was the last MLG firmware update? Just curious

Updated with one test~ not sure if I did well with it. I will update later~

I honestly don't know when the update was, or what version its on. I just remember it asking me to firmware update when I installed the reinstalled the software a few months ago. (went from Win8 back to WIn7)

how is the sensei wireless so far?

personally i love wireless mice and went from the mamba to ouroboros. Was playing around with the original sensei and i loved the shape and size of it. Now that its available wireless, i don't think i can miss it biggrin.gif

The sensor has inconsistent positive acceleration like all Sensei mice.

would you be returning it? Or is it gonna be a keeper?

Been trying to return it for days, I send them the documents they asked for and I have not gotten a response....

Definitely not a keeper if you like the original sensei. The drag alone makes it painful to use,, which is sad considering its not that much heavier than the original sensei.
Drag? You mean the additional weight threw it off balance?
