Problems with EVGA GTX 770

Hello,

So I recently helped a friend put together a gaming rig build and it has been nothing but problems since the start. I have completed several home builds but nothing has had the amount of issues that his build has had. From the beginning when we originally put everything together we went to plug in the computer and boot it up for the first time when we pressed the power button nothing happened. So I checked all the power connectors and everything looked good still nothing his PSU has 650W and 12V rail so I felt that the power should have be sufficient enough to handle the card we played around with different connection combinations until we got the system to power on.

This is where the new problems began we couldn't get video out of the card so we used the motherboard video and installed windows 7 professional on the computer but were unable to install the video drivers for the card because the system cannot detect the card itself for some reason and the system has BOSD several times when trying to boot into windows so basically we are at a standstill at the moment trying to figure out if the card is dead, there is some type of motherboard defect, or if it is simply software issues. The card fans run so the card has life it just will not function or be recognized by the computer in anyway.

I should also note that this has been an ongoing process and we have since installed an 850 W PSU so I do not think power can be an issue at this point.

Any help is appreciated

1. Check your connection (again of course)
2. Can you try this graphic-card in another computer?
3.Have you had a graphic card is this computer before? if so, have the drivers been completely removed? (This way the key to my problem)
4. Have you tried removing the CMOS battery? My mother doesn't like new hardware and requires me to both removes the CMOS battery and reset the bios. I had a fun time trying to move from a 780 to a 270x.
