MGSV ground zeroes on ps3

Thread Starter
anyone bought ground zeroes for the ps3? if so, did you regret it or is it a good version of the game?

I will buy a ps4 at some point, so if the ps3 version is a poor version i dont mind waiting, however, if it just lacks some eye candy but its perfectly playable, i would rather buy it now for the ps3.

So, did you buy ground zeroes ps3 version? are you happy with it?

Well I don't own the game on any platforms yet, but the word is that the PS4 version is the version you would want to get.

I was asuming the ps4 version was the best version, but im asking if the ps3 version is still good or should i really wait untill i buy a ps4, which could be years from now.

Ground Zeroes is a joke. I got so excited for it that I was about to order a PS4 online and realized that you could technically complete the game in 8 minutes. That is an insult for MGS fans! $40 for a game that can be completed in 8 minutes?

I say wait until Phantom Pain and by then Ground Zeroes will be cheaper and you can just buy them both when you get a PS4.

It's only 8 minutes if you speed run -_- Don't start spreading misinformation.

Misinformation would be telling someone that it could be completed in 5 minutes, which it cannot. It is true that it could be completed in 8 minutes, whether or not it uses a speedrun, and this is technically correct. Therefore, I did not provide misinformation.

If someone wants to spend $40 on a game that has had people beat it in 8 minutes, then be my guest. But it's not wise to spend $40 on a game that is barely even the the length of the Tanker mission or the Virtuous mission.

well, i am going to buy the game just because i want to judge on my own if its worth it or not, i dont judge games by length.

Anyhow, im still interested in hearing if the PS3 version is a good version, or if its a bad version (i assume the ps4 version will be better, but thats not my question).

hold on let me find one of the videos on IGN and get back to you by editing my post

Honestly, I would just wait until you get a PS4. MGS GZ will be cheaper then and you will have money left over for the all important PS Plus so you can get free games.

And I am waiting because I want to go right from Ground Zeroes to The Phantom Pain without waiting another year.

Not just that. If you play all the missions in Normal (wise option from Kojima to force players to play the game in Normal on the first run, enlarging the duration of the game) and in Hard (that game is 100% re playable) and you get all collectables, then you have between 4 to 5 hours:

First run in Normal will take you like 2 hours to complete all 4 missions (if you don't speed run the game).
Second run in Hard will take you 2 more hours to complete all 4 missions.
Get all the collectables to unlock a 5th mission and complete that mission in both difficulties will take another hour.

Total: 5 hours. 5 hours for a prologue and a game that's 2,5 times cheaper than a full retail game, is not that exaggerated bad. Of course if you don't like the game that much to replay it a second time, well then yes, it's not worth it at all. And this is why the price point of the game is so subjective to who plays the game.

It's fine, I don't think there's any difference between the PS4 and PS3 versions, other than graphics.

It's basically a $39 demo. There IS a lot you can do to expand on the game longevity, and you don't HAVE to speed run, but, a more serious issue is the game itself.

It's not MGS. Maybe if they called it something else that would be fine, or if it were just a spin-off, not a main title.

MGS 1, 2, 3 and 4 are good, but if 5 is gonna be like that, then it'll probably be a 5/10, at best, for me.
