IMO as an FX-8350 owner, I think that the 8350 is a good and worthwhile upgrade from any PII X4 - if you actually have a use for the cores. For those who already have a 1090T or 1100T I agree... the FX-8350 isn't a big enough jump to be worthwhile.
The primary game I play actually does use all 8 cores. And I also do rendering, transcoding, and compiling, all of which benefit from the 8 core design.
That said, I'm sure that your X4 @ 4ghz poses no bottleneck to your 7850 at all, and if your main use is gaming, there's no point in upgrading your CPU unless you also upgrade your vidcard. Enjoy.Edited by synge - 4/25/14 at 7:54am
