ASUS VG248QE picture qaulity

One of my monitors just died so thought it would be a good time to get a higher quality monitor and was looking at the VG248QE since i do allot gaming. I'am coming from a Asus VE247H and I never really complained about the picture quality but I also never really had any higher quality monitors to compare it to. I also never changed any of the settings on the monitor and pretty much left it on Default settings.

Reading the ASUS VG248QE alot of poeple same to complain about how terrible the picture quality is and i know that TN panel just don;t have the quality of a IPS panel. So my question is compared to other TN panels how bad is the quality? Is it something that very apparent how bad it looks but I would be trading it for the 144hz and less motion blur? I will also probably be looking more into the lightboost everyone keeps talking when talking about gaming monitors.

At 60 Hz it's a pretty decent display...I'm not a photography guru looking for perfect colours or anything like that, but for the average person out there that just wants a nice display, it does the job.

Now at 144 Hz, the colours get washed out a bit. But it's not anything you can't fix. Some people have the calibration equipment and correct it that way, some people share and use ICC profiles (basically a colour profile you can load in Windows that will correct the colours as much as possible), or you can use the "Adjust desktop colour settings" in the Nvidia Control Panel and make adjustments manually. Sure, it won't be absolutely perfect like a high-end IPS panel. But like I say, for the average user out there it'll be a nice looking picture.

I hope this helps! thumb.gif
